Infectious Diseases
The Department of Infectious Diseases diagnoses and treats various infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.
The department provides care for patients with acute sinusitis, meningitis, typhoid fever, cholera, bacillary dysentery, malaria, scrub typhus, leptospirosis, hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, measles, and tuberculosis, and operates an Infection Control Unit that manages and prevents hospital-acquired infections.
In addition, the department provides consultation and treatment for adverse reactions, interactions, and management of antibiotics and other medications, as well as adult immunizations and preventive measures for travelers (e.g., malaria, yellow fever).
